FOR THE LADIES

A special page for Jo, my wife, who takes care of the tons of paperwork required by DPS, makes sure the class starts on time, makes sure there is coffee and donuts available, and keeps me in line during a grueling day of class.

A MESSAGE FROM JO (INSTRUCTOR'S BETTER HALF)

Ladies, don't think this is strictly a men's only class. jo millerWe've have a lot of females (of all ages), take the class and receive their licenses. I have my permit and it gives me a certain peace of mind. Here's a little story for you. Last year I was out shopping at one of the malls and was headed to my car. It was about 8:30ish and I was alone. There was a group of 4 boys (they didn't look like the church type) following me. I was able to put my hand in my purse and able to reach my car without incident. They passed me by but they looked like trouble and I was actually scared. But I did feel safer because if there 'had' been an altercation, I was prepared to at least defend myself. My weapon never came out of my purse, but my hand was on it and I would have been able to deal with the situation. I carry a little Kel-Tec P32. It weighs about 1-2 pounds and it's blue!! They make a pink one too - BUT I wouldn't recommend one of these colored ones if you have kids at home, because it really does 'look' like a toy. Sammy got it for me because it's a good ladies weapon and it was cute - but then, we don't have any little ones at the house. The weapon does come in black as well and that may be preferred by you. It fits nicely in the outside pocket of my purse and with all the other stuff I carry in the purse, this 1-2 pounds is nothing !! You can understand that one, right?! Sammy stresses safety and 'common sense' in class. Those are two big issues to deal with. Come and join us. I promise you'll enjoy the day and you'll even be surprised at how fast the time passes.
