Our classes are held in the meeting room facilities of a well known San Antonio restaurant, Grady's BBQ, (the old Texas Star Inn), 7400 Bandera Road (click for map).
I have found, based on being a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Certified
Police Instructor and Police Firearms Instructor, a good and friendly classroom atmosphere, wherever it may be, is conducive to
the applicant gaining the knowledge they require. I further believe this
can only be accomplished by professional instructors who know and concentrate on the law.
Where else, but in Texas, should one be able to obtain a concealed handgun
license with the smell of BBQ cooking in the background?
Even though we take breaks and you are welcome to stand and stretch during class, the classroom is equipped with metal folding type chairs and because the state law requires a minimum of 10 hours instruction (including range time), for your comfort, I suggest you dress comfortably and bring some type of chair cushion. Although the classroom is air conditioned, the range is outside and consequently, during the summer months, is somewhat warm. I strongly suggest cool clothing, even shorts if you feel like it (heck, I may wear shorts too).
