We will be conducting our renewal classes on the same day as the regular class, however, renewals will have two options to choose from.
1) They may opt to leave the classroom portion between 11:30 am and Noon and rejoin the class at the range to qualify with the new applicants, generally starting between 5:00pm and 5:30pm. Renewals will qualify first and may leave after their qualification.
2) They may opt to remain with the class the entire day and qualify with the new applicants. This is the most comprehensive and also good if you wish to remain with a friend taking the course for the first time. Renewals will qualify first and may leave after their qualification.
The renewal
fee is the same with both options.
PROCEDURES:
Once you have received notification from DPS that it is time to renew your
license, you may pay the state fee on line using the instructions sent to
you by DPS. You will receive a receipt via mail from DPS. You will then need to
take the renewal class and send the necessary paperwork to DPS.
If you prefer to not use the internet, you can follow the instructions
mailed to you by DPS, take the renewal class and send the paperwork and fee
to DPS via mail.
