STAFF
Rob "Powder" Schmidt has the important task of obtaining fingerprints from everybody during the class. This is
backbreaking and tedious work
as a total of 24 prints have to taken from all new applicants and 12 from
renewals. Since 9/11, fingerprint analysis by the FBI and DPS have
become
more intense thereby causing more rejections and returns for re-fingerprinting.
This is a real nemesis, but "Powder" does an excellent job and our returns average
maybe 1 or 2 for every 500 persons printed. I will match that up against any
concealed handgun class in the state. Even the ID section of the San Antonio Police Department has rejects, and they do theirs by computer
imaging. He also lends valuable assistance during qualifications at the range.
Rob has extensive experience as a law enforcement officer with the Bexar County
Sheriff's Office, and he has been certified by the FBI and DPS to take fingerprints.
